Our mission is to work in partnership with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to improve and protect the park’s natural beauty and resources for current enjoyment and that of future generations.
A Few of Our Projects:
- Built 15 Shade Shelters to replace those lost in the 2015 Memorial Weekend flood
- Built a new Wildlife Viewing Station (the original, also built by the Friends Group, was also lost in the 2015 Memorial Weekend flood)
- Installed a rainwater catchment and solar-powered water feature at Wildlife Viewing Station
- Commissioned a stonemason-artist custom limestone bench adjacent to the Park Pavilion
- Purchased 10 kayaks, paddles, and water safety equipment for interpretive kayaking events

All of our successes over nearly three decades are entirely due to the generosity of individuals donors, Real Ale Brewing Company, Highland Lakes Master Naturalists, and foundation grants, for which we are deeply grateful.
